  Martyn Ware

A founder member of both and , Martyn is one of the leading figures in . As record producer and artist has featured on recordings totaling over 50 million sales worldwide during a 27 year career to date, working with Tina Turner, Terence Trent D’Arby, Chaka Khan, Erasure, Marc Almond and Mavis Staples.



Martyn founded Illustrious Company with Vince Clarke in 2001 to exploit the creative and commercial possibilities of their unique ‘Heightened Reality’ three-dimensional sound technology and bespoke musical composition in collaboration with fine artists, the performing arts and corporate clients around the world who include The Science Museum, London, The Royal Ballet, and collaborations with the artists Cathy De Monchaux, Tim Head, Gary Stevens, David Bickerstaff and Philip Tsiaras (at the 2003 Venice Biennale).

Recently Martyn was part of the collective representing Britain at the Venice Architectural Biennale in 2006. Echo City, developed under the leadership of Jeremy Till, Director of Architecture at the University of Sheffield, is an "urban register" describing Sheffield at a variety of scales from 1:1 to 1:10 million and Martyn’s soundscape, with visuals by Malcolm Garrett, projected Sheffield's relationship with the world at large.

He also lectures extensively on music production, technology, creativity and soundscape composition at universities and colleges across the UK and Europe.

Asa Bennett

Asa Bennett is a freelance engineer and producer, with extensive experience in the fields of Pop, TV and film, as well as contemporary and experimental projects with Gavin Bryars, David Lang and Derick Bailey. He is the in-house engineer for the ‘Treader’ Jazz improv Label, working with the likes of Evan Parker, John Tchicai, Eddie Prevost and J Spaceman (Spiritualized).

He has been working with Illustrious Company and Sonic ID on interactive projects since 2004 and played an integral part in projects such as ‘Echo City’ in the British Pavilion at the Venice Architectural Biennale, 25 years of I-D Magazine Exhibition, Christian Aid’s “Everytime I see the sea...” installation and the Future of Sound shows and tour.

Lewis Sykes

A producer, designer, musician, event organiser, lecturer and a JNC qualified Youth & Community Worker, Lewis is currently Director of Cybersonica, London's annual festival of music, sound art and technology, and is a member of audiovisual collective The Sancho Plan. He has also worked for commercial, public sector and independent clients including the BBC (Top Of The Tops online & Radio 1), The Science Museum, Cybersalon, The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, the Institute of Contemporary Art & Westminster University.

Keith Watson

Keith Watson has been involved in the London Digital Arts scene for over ten years, opening the first UK gallery to specialise in Digital Art in 1997. Notably, he managed Deluxe Gallery, Hoxton for two years, which closed in 2004. Since then he has developed a number of innovative New Media venues, including Gunpowder Park, Waltham Abbey and Jaywick Martello Tower, Clacton-on-Sea. Keith, has been involved with Node.London (Networked, Open, Distributed, Events, London a bi-annual festival of new media art) since its inception, acting as its current Co-ordinator. Keith is currently also Public Arts Assistant at Canary Wharf. For Future of Sound, Keith works on logistics support, PR & Marketing and Accounts.

Sigrid Wilkinson

Sigrid Wilkinson is Head of Development for Future of Sound. From 2004-6 she was Director of Development at Zoo Art Fair, a non profit organisation which is one of the most significant international platforms for emerging contemporary art talent. Prior to this she was Business Development Manager at Arts & Business where she specialised in growing the engagement with the creative industries and developing alternative partnership models.

She works as a freelance consultant advising on development, fundraising and cultural partnerships. Clients include Commissions East, Inverarity Vaults and Draft Magazine.

She has an MA Hons in Art History from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and is the Advisory Board of The Drawing Room and Art Committe of Adventure Ecology.

Malcolm Garrett

Malcolm Garrett has been responsible for the design of all visual materials for Future of Sound since 2004. He is creative director at Applied Information Group.
